I have people skills!
I have people skills!! I am good at dealing with people!!! Can’t you understand that?!?

I know that using a term like curriculum vitae (CV) may be confusing to some, but I think it really classes things up around here. And honestly, we can always use a little more class. For those uninitiated folks, a CV is a résumé. If you’re not sure what that is, well, just keep reading and file all of this under “stuff this guy Ross has done”. Enjoy!


In addition to sacking groceries, floral deliveries, parking lot tram operator at AstroWorld (R.I.P.), ushering at a movie theatre, working security at a retirement community, a brief stint as a private investigator, and managing inventory for a well known art gallery*; I’ve done the following things since entering the workforce:

Apr. 2008 – Present; Self Employed Contract Developer
Beginning in April of 2008 I began my journey of being a primary at-home parent to our (then) newborn children, as well as being a one-man solutions shop for small and medium sized clients. In addition to maintaining the majority of skills I’ve previously acquired, I’ve also started exploring iOS development.

Here’s the short list of what I’ve been up to:

  • Maintaining a Microsoft Access Database/Application for a local international sales company. Planning and implementing a transition to SQL server and a VB application as a replacement.
  • Website design, redesign, customization for several clients. Graphic creation, modification.
  • Custom VB app (XML parser) linking commercial radio playlist software to online streaming software.

Relevant Skills: Adobe Suite. Visual Studio.NET (VB.NET, ASP.NET). PHP. MySQL. TSQL. Access (VBA). MS Office.

Feb. 2004- Jul. 2004; Jul. 2005 – Apr. 2008; Addison Health Systems
Network Engineer, Application Developer
Began at AHS as Implementation Manager with a secondary focus on web development, multimedia/training developer. Duties eventually expanded to primary network engineer, visual basic (and asp) developer.
Relevant Skills: MS Server 2000, 2003: AD, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Fax Console, Exchange (6.5), SQL Server 2000, ISA 2004. Adobe (Macromedia) Suite. Visual Studio 6 (VB6), Visual Studio.NET (VB.NET, ASP.NET)

Partnered with a Loan Officer. Managed the technical aspects of client interaction and tracking.
Relevant Skills: Lotus Notes (Client), Novell Network (Client), ACT!, MS Office.

Jul. 2002 – Nov. 2003; OneWeb Corporation
Director of Internet Development;
I was directly responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of client websites. Additionally, I was a co-developer of several .Net Web Applications that utilized SQL database integration.
Relevant Skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver, SQL Server (2000), Visual Studio.NET (ASP.NET, VB.NET), Windows Server 2000, ACT!, Microsoft Office.

May 1998 – Jun. 2002; New Horizons Computer Training Company (Dallas/Fort Worth)
Webmaster, Training Supervisor, Principle Instructor;
Created a multi-port web structure for a Texas franchise. Supervised a training staff of 20 +/- instructors. Specialized in teaching Web Development, Multimedia and Graphics Applications. Taught a wide range of other standard computer applications.
Honors: Instructor of the Month, December 1998; Instructor of the Year 1999.
